Upcoming Retreats

Ashtanga Yoga & Ayurveda Retreat
28-31 May, 2026 in Twente, NL with Maxi
A retreat is an opportunity to take space to nourish yourself exactly what you need. For some it is a deep dive into self-study. For others, it’s a time to gently unfold, rest and soak up the magic of time. One of the benefits of traveling to a particular location away from your regular routine is that we can better recognise our unconscious habit patterns, and decide whether we want to let them go or hold on to them. From a more conscious place, we return home to our families, work and life, energized and ready for what’s ahead. The idea is to come back to the world with more wholeness.
Beautiful retreat space in a wonderful location. Amazing food and a special experience where Maxi shares lots of attention for your personal needs/practice. Highly recommend this retreat for students with an established practice or those keen to explore it.

For months I felt restless, and the End of the Year workshop was exactly what I needed. Within minutes, calm settled and my mind grew quiet. Maxi’s gentle guidance made me feel truly cared for. Three months later, I still feel the lasting effects - calm, clarity, and better decision-making. If you get the chance, treat yourself to this workshop.
Anita Berendsen
Practicing with Maxi over the past seven years has been a gift, and her recent Intermediate Series workshop was no exception. Maxi’s light, approachable style and deep knowledge create a space where learning feels natural and supportive. The workshop struck a beautiful balance between challenge and care, offering insights not just into the practice, but into my own journey. I left feeling deeply inspired and grateful.

At 70, I never felt too old or out of place in the Ashtanga Mysore Style. From the first workshop with Maxi, I felt at home. Her loving, personal guidance and creative adjustments make practice a joy - I come and leave the studio happy. I now practice at home almost daily and see real progress in strength and flexibility. It's amazing what you can do when you open yourself to it!
Iñez Bolle
Fantastic! I had a wonderful retreat. Maxi is such an inspiring teacher. She can really show you the subtle layers of yoga. I would definitely recommend a workshop, lesson or retreat with Bhumi yoga.

“At first, I thought the 6-month Ashtanga program wasn’t for me since I’m not advanced. But during the program you slowly build up techniques and integrate them into your life - no need to be advanced. The program offers a deeper understanding of yoga beyond just asana, positively changing my practice and life. Sharing the journey with others made it even richer. Maxi’s empathetic, realistic guidance helps you embrace yoga as a lifestyle, honoring where you are without pressure.
Jorien Zevenberg
“I joined the program expecting a big focus on anatomy, but instead discovered a holistic approach integrating yoga, kriya, and pranayama throughout the whole body. Now, I see the poses more as processes and pay close attention to important details like building arches in the body. Also the guidance on practice integrity has truly deepened my understanding and transformed how I practice.
Anita Wagner
Thank you for this workshop! I haven’t felt this rested in a long time. It truly reset my nervous system. Even my friend noticed how relaxed I was and want to join the next session!
Kristina Altukhova
My yoga practice has truly become a way of life, not just physical exercise. The six-month intensive allows time to integrate what you learn and come back with new questions. Maxi’s enthusiasm and flexible teaching create a great atmosphere. The open, supportive group also helped me overcome personal challenges.
Bert Oosting
Before the Intensive, I had practiced Mysore Style for six months, but this program helped me build a much stronger, more holistic practice by integrating pranayama, kriyas, and other techniques from the start. It shifted my perspective—yoga is more than just asanas. The biggest benefits for me were developing a daily pranayama practice that brings balance and a better connection to my breath and bandhas. I’ve also learned to honor my practice by prioritizing kriya and pranayama, even when time is short.
Ele Bailoni
The Ashtanga Intensive was a wonderful six-month journey that helped me build a personal, balanced practice. The program blends physical practice with pranayama, kriya, and yoga philosophy. Practicing in a small group made sharing challenges and growth special. Maxi’s warm guidance and presence create a supportive space that keeps me returning. Whether new or experienced, this program offers a strong foundation and deepening of your Ashtanga practice
Lies Mensink
I especially appreciated Maxi’s clear, simple explanations of the physiology of breath. Her deep understanding brought new depth to my body awareness in yoga - beyond muscles and bones to include internal organs and the subtle body through bandhas and pranayama.
